Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
Mix-Ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients. Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness. You can substitute different types of chocolate or add nuts for variety.
