Ingredients

For the Pizza Pockets
  • 1 lb Pizza dough Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup Gooey melted cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) Melted cheese for best results
  • 1/2 cup Pizza sauce More sauce can be used for dipping
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoni or your favorite toppings Customize with your preferred fillings
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For brushing the tops
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder For additional flavor
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning To sprinkle on top

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface.
  3. Cut the dough into squares or circles.
  4. Place a spoonful of pizza sauce on each piece of dough, followed by cheese and your chosen toppings.
  5. Fold the dough over to create pockets and seal the edges with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly, then serve warm.
  9. Heat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  10. Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough; separate into triangles if using crescent rolls. Spoon a small amount of 1/2 cup pizza sauce onto the wide end of each triangle, add mozzarella and pepperoni, then sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning; add mushrooms, bell peppers, or sausage if using. Roll up tightly from the wide end and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  11. Brush the tops with olive oil or melted butter, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
  12. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, until puffed and deeply golden. Cool 2 to 3 minutes so the cheese settles.
  13. Serve warm with 1/2 cup pizza sauce, plus extra for dipping if you like

Notes

Serve warm with extra pizza sauce or ranch for dipping. Add a side salad or cut-up veggies for a fuller meal. For storage, cool completely, place in an airtight container, and keep for 3-4 days in the fridge. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
